Envision Witt Volunteers Plan Fall Festival Oct. 29

On Thursday, Oct. 19, some of the members of the newly formed Witt community group Envision Witt met at the Witt United Methodist Church.

"Envision Witt" was started in August of this year by Shannon Keiser, Jay Martin, Denise Kistner, Donna Yeske and Greta Akers, all of Witt.

The number one priority of Envision Witt is to beautify and revitalize the town and to make it come alive again. The group has established numerous goals such as to rebuild and restore the city of Witt with streetlights, planters, high-speed fiber internet and bring jobs and businesses back to a once booming community.

They also want to make safe places in Witt for children and grandchildren to play and to provide an after school place for kids to do homework and also stay until parents get home from work.

Shannon Keiser of Witt, president of Envision Witt since its inception has been working with Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Valerie Belusko. Belusko has provided the group with her expertise on education and resources for specific issues related to the Witt community. She provides data and analysis to improve infrastructure that supports business and community growth.

On Sunday, Oct. 29 from 12 to 5 p.m., Envision Witt is sponsoring the first Witt Fall Festival to be held in Witt City Park. There will be games, concessions, live music, drawings, booths, a number of vendors, crafts and treasures for everyone to enjoy.

On Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. Envision Witt is also sponsoring a "Trunk or Treat" at the Witt Lions Club on Broadway Street in Witt. There will be the usual Halloween Parade with lineup at the Security National Bank at 4:45 p.m. prior to the "Trunk or Treat" event.

The group welcomes new ideas and any volunteer workers. For more information on Envision Witt, call
