6:30pm—6:35pm      Dinner & Opening Remarks by:  Dr. Robert Mulch—MCEDC Chair
As a practicing family physician in Hillsboro for 36 years Dr. Mulch has developed long-lasting relationships with his community.  In 1989 he, along with three other physicians, became the first physicians outside of Sangamon County to join Springfield Clinic.    During his time with Springfield Clinic he served as Physician Champion for the electronic health record conversion, Associate Medical Director for 14 years, and was a member of the Board of Directors for three years.  Dr. Mulch is now retired from medicine but continues to be involved in his community.  Currently he is a member of the Imagine Hillsboro Technology and Housing Committees, Hillsboro Area Hospital Health Foundation, Montgomery County Board, Montgomery County School Study Commission, Montgomery County Health Department Board, President of the church council at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, and current chair of the Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation.

 

6:35 pm—7:15 pm “Developing an Electronic Marketing Plan” by:  Travis Brown—Account Manager at Rokusek
Travis is an Account Manager and Tactical Projects Leader at Rokusek. After graduating from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a degree in Mass Communication, he began a successful career with the Boy Scouts of America. After 8 years he moved back to his hometown of Quincy, IL to become the Executive Director for the Historic Quincy Business District (now known as The District). Under Travis’ leadership, the organization grew membership by over 40%, increased revenue, strengthened community relations, went through a rebranding campaign and saw many advances in technology and innovation. In 2014, he joined the team at Rokusek where he works with clients to help them find solutions for their business. 

7:15 pm—7:35 pm “Why Fiber Optic Internet?” by:  Billy Williams—President of CTI
CTI is a technology company that was founded in 1998 by Adam Vocks and Billy Williams of Taylorville, IL. CTI is a forward-looking company and over the years they have accumulated a number of “firsts” in their market. They were the first     company to provide digital 56K dial-up modem service in Taylorville, the first company to provide DSL service in Taylorville, the first company to successfully deploy fixed wireless Internet in Taylorville, the first and only company to provide fiber to the home to Taylorville, and the first and only provider to offer Gigabit Internet service in Taylorville.  CTI’s fiber technology allows this company to provide levels of service and support that this Industry can’t compete with.

 

7:35 pm—8:05 pm “Cyber Security and the Small Business “ by:  Jeff Franks—Avenel  (Formerly Care Otter)
Jeff graduated from Ferris State University in Michigan in software engineering and is currently serving as President of Avenel in Litchfield, IL.  Anvenel recently released the medical industries first machine learning EHR (electronic health record) which is vastly different from the current market EHR’s that were based off of technology from 30 years ago.  Jeff has been with Allscripts (the parent company of Care Otter) since 2003 and prior to that he worked for Novell as a Sr. Premium Services Engineer.  He currently resides in Springfield with his wife.
